Thai Basil Beef, Pad Krapow-Style

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Bison
  • 1 Tbsp. Oil
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 2 Thai Chilies, sliced (or red pepper flakes)
  • 1 Small Onion, sliced thin
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Packed Cup Thai Basil LeavE

Sauce

  • 3 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Fish Sauce
  • 1–2 tsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Wate

For Serving

  • Steamed Jasmine Rice
  • Fried Eggs (optional)

Directions

  1. Mix the sauce: stir together soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, and water.
  2. Brown the beef: heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add aromatics: stir in garlic and chilies. Cook about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Cook vegetables: add onion and bell pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Finish the dish: pour in sauce and toss everything together. Simmer 1–2 minutes until glossy.
  6. Add basil: turn off heat and fold in basil until just wilted.

Serving tip: serve with or over rice with or without a crispy fried egg for that authentic style finish
