Bison

Make a statement

Anyone can give a gift. Not everyone makes a statement.

Most Father’s Day gifts stop at the gesture, something generic that could be for anyone. This is different: bone-in bison and beef from regenerative ranchland in Big Timber, Montana, shipped directly from the ranch. Bison and beef with a real origin and a reason behind it.

Montana primal

Two Animals. One STandard.

Bison and beef raised to the same Montana Primal standard, with regenerative rangeland practices and no feedlot finishing.

The differences are real. Bison runs leaner with a distinct mineral depth, while beef carries more intramuscular fat and a familiar richness. Both are fantastic. Both ship free. And if he cannot decide, or you cannot decide for him, ordering both is a perfectly reasonable position.

No wrong answer. Just good bones.

Tangen Draw

The Ranch

Tangen Draw sits east of the Crazy Mountains in Big Timber, Montana. The family’s Montana roots run generations deep, and regenerative ranching became their way back to the land. Since 2019, they’ve introduced practices like rotational grazing, soil health monitoring, and breed selection for rangeland adaptation.

Our standard

Verified Montana Primal

Third-party nutrient verification through Edacious helps validate the Montana Primal standard, with data on omega ratios, mineral density, and protein composition. It’s not a label we invented. It’s a standard we can prove.

FAQs

What cuts are eligible for free shipping?

We’re offering free shipping on all bone-in cuts in both bison and beef. You can select the individual cuts on this page or purchase the Porterhouse Pair and receive free shipping.

What's the difference between the bison and beef cuts?

Both are raised to the same Montana Primal standard — regenerative rangeland, no feedlot finishing, third-party verified. Bison tends to run leaner with a deeper mineral character; beef carries more intramuscular fat and a familiar richness. Both are worth having — and ordering both is a perfectly valid move.

Will it arrive before Father's Day?

Yes — order by 6/15 for guaranteed delivery in time for Father's Day. All bone-in cuts ship free via our ranch in Big Timber, MT.

What makes this different from a grocery store steak?

You can name the ranch, the practices, and the verification behind it. Third-party verified by Edacious. Raised on Montana rangeland, never feedlot-finished. That’s Montana Primal — not a label, a standard we can prove.

Is there a subscription option?

These are one-time purchases. If you want ongoing access to Montana Primal bison and beef, the Rangeland Society is how we do that — but it’s never required.
