Wood-Fired Cheeseburger Pizza with Sharp Cheddar.
Serves: 6 | Prep: 15 min | Cook: 10-15 mi
Ingredients:
- 1 pizza dough
- 1 lb. Tangen Draw Ground Beef
- 3 Cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 Cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ⅔ Cup sliced dill pickles
-
⅓ Cup red onion, finely chopped
Cheeseburger Sauce
- ⅔ Cup ketchup
- ⅓ Cup yellow mustard
- 1½ Tbsp. mayonnaise
Directions:
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks. Cook until browned. Drain any excess fat. In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, yellow mustard and mayonnaise until smooth.
- Stretch the pizza dough to your desired size and thickness. Spread the cheeseburger sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge. Sprinkle with a layer of mozzarella and sharp cheddar. Top evenly with the cooked ground beef, red onion and dill pickles. Finish with the remaining cheese.
- Wood-Fired Pizza Oven - Preheat the pizza oven to 700–750°F. Transfer the pizza to the hot oven and cook for 2–4 minutes, rotating frequently, until the crust is blistered and golden and the cheese is melted and bubbling. Remove from the oven, slice and serve immediately.
- Conventional Oven - Preheat the oven to 450°F. Place the stretched pizza dough on a pizza pan or baking sheet and pre-bake for 6 minutes. Remove from the oven and add the cheeseburger sauce, mozzarella, sharp cheddar, cooked ground beef, red onion and dill pickles. Return to the oven and bake for 8–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the crust is golden. Slice and servewarm.
Tangen Draw Tip: Keep the ground beef in small crumbles so every slice gets plenty of beef. For an extra cheeseburger-style finish, serve with a little extra sauce for dipping.
